Whale Watching on the Gold Coast
At Sheraton Grand Mirage Resort, we want our guests to enjoy the unique experiences of the Gold Coast. One of those experiences is whale watching.
The Gold Coast is the ideal place to witness the many species of whales that travel across Australian waters. Due to our location on the East Coast of Australia, the Gold Coast plays host to whale migrations from both directions. While most migrations typically take place around the middle of August, the whale watching season extends from June through to November.
Every year visitors and locals on the Gold Coast marvel at the various species of whales that enjoy putting on a show for the audience. Sightings of humpback whales, whale calves and killer whales are very common on our shores.
With the many whale watching tours on offer on the Gold Coast, you certainly wouldn’t want to miss out on an opportunity to see these giants of the sea in action. Embark on a whale watching trip with the whole family and let your children enjoy the awe-inspiring spectacle. Learn about the whales, their migration schedules and how they behave in their habitat. If you’re lucky, you could get a glimpse of Migaloo, the mysterious white humpback whale that has gained quite a following on the Gold Coast and Australia.
Whale enthusiasts can rejoice as there are roughly 25,000 viewing opportunities every year on the Gold Coast. Several departure points are dotted around the city including Marina Mirage, Sea World, Sea World Resort and Surfers Paradise, each accessible within minutes from Sheraton Grand Mirage Resort.
